To alleviate some of the initial questions...there is an adoption fee of $100.00 for adult cats and $150.00 for kittens, and home visits are required. If you reside outside the local area there are some different requirements...personal referrals, a vet referral, an agreement to be responsible for transportation (both ways if necessary) and a commitment to returning the pet to Kitty and K-9 if the placement does not work or your situation changes where you cannot keep the pet. Depending on the circumstances, there may be other requirements. Our commitment is to these orphaned critters we rescue...we devote tons of love, time, energy and money to their rescue, medical bills and care...our goal is to find them the very best placement with a lifetime commitment.

ROSA* is a DSH dilute calico approximately 2-3 years of age. Came back into rescue because her adoptive mom did not honor the commitment she made when she adopted her. Has a wonderful personality, though sometimes gets a little bossy with some of the other cats. Loves to sit on your lap and keep you company when you are working on the computer or watching tv. Would be a great companion to share your bed with. Gives little kitty kisses. Needs to go into a home with older children.

APRIL* is a DMH sleek black female under a year of age who was found roaming for scraps. Extremely thin, a concerned couple started feeding her. Because they couldn't keep her, she came into rescue. She has gained weight, is now healthy and ready for her forever home where she will be pampered for the rest of her life. Gets along with other cats once she has had time to adjust.

O'BRIEN* is a beautiful DLH male approximately 2 years of age. DECLAWED on all four feet. Is very friendly and gets along well with other cats. Ideal home would be someone who lives in a small space or in an assisted living home. After being in trial placement and returned, it seems that O'Brien would be happier in a home with a woman, no men, no kids and no dogs.

PANDORA* was pulled out of Animal Control and adopted out in no time. Came back into rescue due to her new mom discovering she had allergies and had developed asthma to cats. Pandora is a DMH gray striped and white beautiful front DECLAWED female approximately 2 years old. Very affectionate, likes to give you head butts and kisses and curl up next to you at night. Does well with other cats and most likely children. Don't know about dogs.

GYZMO** is a 2 yr old female black and white tuxedo. Rescued by a military family from an abusive neighbor. Very sweet, loves to cuddle, sit in laps and give kisses. Gets along ok with other cats that aren’t aggressive. She is near the bottom of the pecking order in her foster home. Gyzmo likes to play with the kitty puzzle toy and pull the balls and catnip pillows out of it, she’s a very smart cat. Ok with dogs and wonderful with children.

ISABELLA**is a medium hair black kitty, approximately 3 years old. She was a rescue from Houston Animal Control quite a while ago. She loves to be in high places, especially the top of the cat tree, or on the upper window sills. Lots of time is spent watching the bird feeder (I wonder what she’s thinking!) or lounging in the sunshine. She likes to drink out of the sink. She is good with children, other cats, and dogs. Isabella loves laps and snuggling up in bed at night with the family.

JADA** is a 1 yr old dilute torti. She had kittens in Nov, and they have all found their forever homes. Jada is very tolerent, and likes to cuddle and be held. Good lap sitter, and likes brushing. DAISEY MAY** is a petite DSH black and white female, approximately 2-1/2 years of age. She is looking for a new home that will keep her indoors and make that lifetime commitment. She does try to escape out the door from time to time, so her new owner would have to be aware of this and watch her closely when leaving or entering the house. She is a sweet kitty, used to kids and dogs. She had a bad experience with one of the foster dogs attacking her, so she does have problems with aggressive dogs now. She doesn't like to be held for any length of time, however does like to lap sit and loves to be petted. She may do well with one other cat, as she does play with some of the younger cats in her foster home. Daisey likes to be up high and watch the birds out the windows.

MISSY** is an 8 yr old black and white long hair kitty. She is used to being an only cat. Missy got left behind when her owner went off to College. Very affectionate. Likes lap sitting on her own terms. She is ok with dogs and would be ok with 1 or 2 other cats. Missy can be social if she wants to be, and does well at the Meet & Greets.

Has beautiful fur with a georgous mane. Is underweight for his build. Found as a stray, this boy was pulled from Animal Control after contracting upper respiratory. Would do well with other cats and kids.

OAKLEY** is a short hair calico with white female, approximately 2-3 yrs old. Rescue from Animal Control when owners got evicted. Extremely friendly, calm and gentle. Great hunter of the laser light. Loves to be brushed, playful, great with children, not easily spooked. She loves to flip over on her back when you walk by, asking for belly rubs. She does the same to the dogs. Very social, she is the hit of the party at the Meet & Greets.

BLOSSOM* is a red and white short-haired female, approximately 6 years of age who wound up at Animal Control as a stray. She is a little shy at first, but comes with a hugh personality. She reacts to your voice by purring, sticking her butt up in the air and kneading. She is polydactyle, and has a short kinky tail. Does well with other cats and would probably do fine with dogs. Very sweet and lovable, would be a wonderful addition to someone's family. Blossom would do excellent with someone who has a small living space (an efficency or small apartment).

MARISSA** is an adult Maine Coon type kitty, approx 5 yrs old. She came into Animal Control as a stray, very matted up. So, she was shaved into a lion cut, and looks a bit scraggly right now. She’s a sweet kitty who likes attention. Ok with other cats and dogs. She has a little bit of an attitude, so would not be suitable for younger children

FOXY** is a VERY OVERWEIGHT, DECLAWED 3-4 yr. old girl who needs desperatly to be on a diet. She's extremely sweet. She likes to sit in your lap, likes to be held and loves catnip. She gets along well with her declawed roommate, so am sure she would do well with another cat. Maybe you have another full figured feline, and they can both be on a diet together! Since she is so chubby, she needs a little help keeping her back end clean cuz she can't reach it. This will change after she loses a bit of weight. Her personality will make it worth your while of making her part of your family.

SANTANA* is a DSH black cat with specks of white fur throughout and is estimated to be about 7+ years of age. This 18# hunk-a-hunk of burning love, is extremely vocal. Had been a stray for awhile, fending for himself while a kind neighbor tried to keep him fed. The ferals in the neighborhood keep picking fights with him and she became concerned for his safety. Once he is comfortable is his surroundings he will follow you around like a puppy dog. Thinks that your lap is the ultimate experience and would love someone to share a bed with. Can only go into a home if a guarantee can be made of him not getting out. If he gets outside, he will wander.

JASPER* is a DSH mackrel tabbly male approximately 1-1/2 year of age. He was asked to be rescued from Animal Control so his socialization skills could be worked on. Lovingly called Purrburt because you just have to pick him up and his motor starts. This kitty is somewhat shy, but has come a long way in rescue. Sleeps with me and is quite loveable, but will require an adjustment period and someone who has patience and won't have high expectations of him; someone who will let him come around at his own speed. This kitty needs to go into a home with an existing cat. Will not be adopted into a home with small children. This foster mom is getting quite attached to Jasper and I know he will be purrfect for someone.

BEKKI* is a DSH dilute torti 2-3 years of age. Dumped at Animal Control (she was given as a Christmas present), when they decided they no longer wanted her. Bekki is very loveable, talkative and just loves to be around people. Does very well with other cats, kids and probably dogs.

ZACH* is a DSH DECLAWED black & white tuxedo approximately 2-3 years of age. Brought in from Ft. Rich as a stray, this kitty was very shy at Animal Control. He loves sitting in your lap, and once your starting petting him, he motor kickes in. Loves belly rubs. Is shy at first, but when he gets comfortable, you can really see what a great purrsonality he has.

ZACH IS IN TRIAL PLACEMENT

PARKER* is a 12+ year old front DECLAWED gray male kitty who was dumped at Animal Control by his previous owners after they made him live outside for 2 years. He didn't do well there and went into a depression where he just seemed to give up on life. He came out with upper respiratory, an ulcerated eye and wasn't eating. It took him a long time to get back on track and to gain back his weight. He has learned to purr again, loves to be in your lap, especially when you are on the comptuer, and has started talking. Needs to go into a quiet home with no small children. Would do best as an 'only' child or another older, inactive cat. This kitty deserves so much more then what his past owners did to him.

DONOVAN* is a medium haired 5 year old boy out of Anchorage Animal Control. He is very friendly when he is comfortable with you and does well with his feline roommates. Has a sweet disposition and will be your best friend when you bring out the brush. Is an extremely nice cat who would get along well with anybody. VERA* is a black & white short-haired tuxedo cat who was living on her own for awhile. Her age is estimated to be about 5 years old. She is a talker and a lovebug once she gets comfortable in her environment. Didn't take her long to come out of her shell and become comfortable in her new and safe surroundings. Underweight at first, as she scavenged for food until she trusted someone to pick her up and take her off the streets, but is healthy now. Is a great cat and gets along well with the other cats in the household. Loves to entertain you once she feels secure in her new house.

AMELIA* is a beautiful DSH calico point female with vivid blue eyes approximately 1 year of age. She ended up at Animal Control as a product of divorce. Ex-wife left cat with ex-husband, ex-husband dumped cat at Animal Control. A very friendly and outgoing cat, loves human contact. Is adjusting fairly well to other cats. Would do well with children.

AMELIA IS IN TRIAL PLACEMENT

SUZIE** is a sweet adult tabby, approx 3 yrs old,with white feet that have extra toes. She gets along ok with other cats, but seems to prefer her own company, or that of one other cat. I don't think she would be good with small humans, she sometimes has a little bit of a torti attitude. She tolerates dogs. She likes to climb on top of the cat tree and sniff your head as you go by.

EVELYN* is a DSH tabby cat approximately 8 years of age. Her previous owners moved out of the apartment and left Evelyn to fend for herself until she was found by the landlord who promptly dropped her off at Anchorage Animal Control. She tolerates the cats she lives with, but would do well in a home as an only child or perhaps one other cat. This roly poly gal needs some stability in her life, someone willing to make a place for her in their home for the rest of her life. Loves to be petted and will pat you on the arm if you stop too soon. Likes attention, but a little reserved around the other cats.

ESMERALDA* is a DLH sleek, very petite black female 2-3 years of age. Came in to Animal Control with kittens so was placed into foster until the kittens were old enough to be adopted. On her return to Animal Control, she came down with upper respiratory so a rescue was called on her. She is a wonderful cat with lots of personality, very sweet and loveable. Does great with her fellow roomies. She would be great for a family with kids.

MACADEMIA (L) & BRAZIL (R)*** - We are very cute little girl “mitten” kittens. Our momma was found as a stray; we are two of a litter of six. Nut names were the theme used to name our litter. We love our vet clinic but what were they thinking? We are small for our 13 weeks of age and we will probably have medium to long hair. We love to play but still take lots of kitty naps. We are loveable, very sweet and dog tolerant We would like to live together so we have a playmate…or at least another cat in the household so we are not lonely. We will delight you with our mischievousness, creativity and beauty. Adopt us and you will be showered with lots of love and companionship for many years.

EMILY* - I'm a beautiful DSH calico, approximately 1-2 years of age. My mom fell down and broke her back and had to leave the state for surgery. Because things aren't going so well fo her, she decided it was in my best interest to be re-homed. I will need an adjustment period, but when I get comfortable in a new environment I am pretty loving and outgoing. I lived in a a house with other cats and a large dog. Give me a try, you won't be disappointed.

AVA & AVALON* are two twin sister DSH brown & grey tabby wannbes approximately 9-10 months of age. They have the M across their foreheads and some stripes on their tails and legs, but no stripes on their bodies. Both had a very hard start in life when their uncaring, irresponsible owners dumped the mom and the 3 tiny kittens by the side of the road out to Eklutna Glacier. A caring couple from California saw then, stopped their car and tried for quite awhile to round this terrified family up. In the end, two of the kittens were captured and mom and the other kitten disappeared. Both kittens ended up sick, then Ava came down with a serious eye infection that almost took her eye. Both girls are doing really well now and it would be this rescuers dream if someone adopted both girls together. These kitties won't be adopted out as only children. Consideration will only be if you adopt both sisters together or they go into a home with an existing cat.

KINGSLEY* is a DLH brown tabby, 1 year of age. Was pulled out of Animal Control due to upper respiratory as well. Like Meekers, he too was facing an uncertain future as everyone passed him up and he got sick. Dumped by owners who were too selfish to make other arrangements for this wonderful cat. Their excuse - " going on vacation". Very inquisitive and playful. Would do well with other cats and kids. He has a rash that developed after his neuter, so until we find out what caused it and how to get rid of it, he will be unavailable for adoption.

GEMINI* is a beautiful DSH calico/torti approximately 2 years of age who gets along with everyone. A volunteer favorite at Animal Control, she was pulled as she was headed for euthansia. She is a great cat, full of personality. Loves people, other cats, would do well with children and most likely dogs. Adjusts fairly quickly into a new envirnoment.
